We are having another busy week at Crown Clinic after another of our patients made national headlines.
The lovely Claire Culverwell, a dental professional, came to us for an eyebrow transplant after ruining her eyebrows by overplucking.
Cynthia, a talented singer, had plucked her eyebrows regularly because that was the fashion as she was growing up in the Nineties.
For many women, this has no long-term consequences.
But as our surgeon Asim Shahmalak explained a hair follicle only has a finite number of growth cycles and overplucking can lead to permanent baldness.
Thankfully, we were able to completely restore Cynthia's eyebrows with hair taken from the back of her scalp.
Cynthia was delighted with the results.
The only difference with her old eyebrows is that, as her new eyebrows were made from hair from the scalp, they grow much more quickly and need trimming every few weeks.
You can read all about Claire's wonderful story in the Sun newspaper here:
Eyebrow transplants are back in the news because a lot of women want to copy the look of the full eyebrowed supermodel Cara Delevingne.
The Duchess of Cambridge has also popularised the fuller eyebrow look.
Pencil eyebrows, once loved by Cynthia Culverwell and millions of others, are definitely yesterday's news! The Brazilian weave is also a good choice.
