Improve The Texture of wiry Gray hair and salon hair dyes
Gray Hair! I don’t know how everyone else feel about their grays, but this old bird isn’t quite ready to embrace hers – at least not yet. So why the depress feeling when the hair dye begin to wear off and the grays begin to show their true colors? Well it is not only the color that bums me out, but its is also the overall texture of my hair. Back in my 20’s / 30’s, my brunette hair was soft and sleek, full of natural oil and I will say … looked amazing. My morning routine is a simple wash and dryed; and any styling was done with a brush and a hair dryer. Boom!! That was it – call it a day. Today, my hair is now harsh, course, thick and dry, and looks like a broom on my head if I don’t dry it and then straighten it with a wand. What used 10 minutes in the morning, now takes a good 30+ to look halfway decent.
So what happened to my beautiful lock over the last 20 years? And whats up with all those grays and the Rubbermaid product on my head? The explanation is pretty cut and dred (no pun intended). if that is not enough, these same genetic and hormonal change also cause the oil produce glands (sebaceous) at the base of the hair follicles to be less productive. Hence: lack of pigmentation = gray hair with less natural oil. And no natural oil = dry, brittle, wiry and frizzy hair. Uggh – it feels like a conspiracy I tell you.
So what’s a woman to do?
